Documentation

Everything you need to know to get the most out of FlyWise.

Getting Started

FlyWise helps drone pilots and fleet operators track flights, manage drones, and analyze telemetry data.

  1. Create an account — Go to the registration page and sign up with your email.
  2. Log in — Use your credentials on the login page.
  3. Add your first drone — Head to the Fleet page and register your drone (model, serial number, status).

Managing Your Fleet

The Fleet page lets you keep track of all your drones in one place.

  • Add new drones with name, model, and serial number.
  • Update status (Active, Idle, Maintenance, Retired).
  • Assign drones to pilots or organizations (role-based permissions supported).
  • Edit or remove drones as needed.

Only users with the appropriate permissions can create or edit fleet entries.

Logging Flights

You can log flights in two ways:

  • Manual entry: Use the "Log a flight" form to record planned or completed flights. Add distance, duration, max altitude, speed, category, notes, and location.
  • Automatic from telemetry: Upload DJI SRT files (see next section). FlyWise will automatically extract data and create flight records.

Uploading SRT Telemetry

DJI drones export flight data as .SRT files. FlyWise can parse these files to automatically generate accurate flight logs.

  • Go to the SRT Upload page.
  • Select one or more SRT files from a single flight session.
  • Choose the drone and (optionally) associate it with an existing flight.
  • FlyWise will combine segments, calculate stats, and create the flight record.

Tip: Select all SRT files from one flight at once for best results.

Analyzing Flights

Once a flight is logged, you can view rich details:

  • Interactive map (powered by Leaflet) showing the exact flight path.
  • Speed-over-time graph.
  • Key stats: distance, duration, max altitude, max speed.
  • Export the flight path as a GPX file (compatible with Google Earth, Garmin, etc.).

Visit the Flights page to see all your logged flights and click any row for details.

Sharing Flights

Generate a read-only share link for any flight. Recipients don't need an account to view the flight summary, map, and stats.

You can revoke share links at any time from the flight detail page.

Preflight Planning

Use the Preflight Check tool before every flight:

  • Select your drone model to load its specifications.
  • Enter planned date, time, and location.
  • View weather conditions, wind, visibility, and precipitation.
  • Get a GO / CAUTION / NO-GO recommendation based on your drone's limits.

This tool helps you make safer go/no-go decisions.
